A little about me

After a rewarding 30-year career in primary school teaching, I have recently retired and begun a new chapter as an independent celebrant.

Throughout my teaching career, I developed a love of storytelling, writing and speaking, always striving to communicate with warmth, care and understanding. I also supported children and families through times of grief and loss, experiences that taught me the importance of listening, kindness and recognising that everyone deals with difficult times in their own way.

My own experience of loss has also shaped my approach. When my father died, I wrote and delivered the eulogy at his funeral. It was a deeply personal experience that helped me appreciate just how important it is to find the right words to reflect a person's life, share treasured memories and offer a fitting farewell.

I bring these personal and professional experiences to my work as a celebrant, taking time to listen to your stories, understand your wishes and create a ceremony that feels personal, meaningful and true to the person being remembered.

As a funeral celebrant, I believe every life deserves to be honoured with care and dignity. I want to help families celebrate the individuality of their loved one, sharing the memories, stories and qualities that made them special.

I also create wedding ceremonies that celebrate love, commitment and the beginning of a new chapter together.
